Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Senior Structural Design Engineer for its Power Engineering group. You will design and review structural calculations, develop plans, and help manage project risk as construction progresses.

The position supports multiple office locations including Phoenix. This role requires leadership of engineers, collaboration across disciplines, adherence to codes, and delivering cost‑effective solutions within schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• 10–20 years of experience in industrial or power generation.
• Ability to independently determine methods and processes.
• Experience training and leading engineers.
• Strong written and verbal communication across departments.
• Seeks process improvements for customers.

Responsibilities

• Develops and reviews design documents and calculations.
• Leads projects with minimal supervision.
• Mentors less experienced engineers.
• Coordinates with project teams across disciplines.
• Ensure solutions meet budget and schedule; apply codes and standards.
