Job summary

Kiewit Power Engineers seeks a Structural Design Engineer to support the construction process through innovative design, calculations, drawing preparation, and risk mitigation. The candidate will lead projects, collaborate across disciplines, and drive complex solutions for power generation initiatives.

The role requires a mid-to-senior level engineer with strong technical skills and leadership potential, working across Lenexa, Houston, Raleigh, or Phoenix.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural engineering.
• 5+ years of structural engineering and design experience.
• Power industry experience preferred.
• Experience with SAP2000, SAFE and Mathcad.
• Familiarity with ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360, IBC.
• Professional Engineer license preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Proficient with spreadsheets and databases.

Responsibilities

• Prepare designs for assigned structures including analysis and drawings for power generation projects.
• Apply department and industry standards when preparing calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Meet EPC, customer RFPs, and contractual requirements.
• Research markets and adapt processes to deliver project deliverables.
• Coordinate with internal/external partners to address structural issues.
• Prepare, monitor, and update project plans, schedules, and staffing/budgets.
• Support managers in achieving department performance goals.
