Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join the Power Engineering team. You will design and review structures for power generation projects, lead design tasks, and collaborate with cross-functional groups to meet EPC contracts and client requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural engineering from ABET‑accredited four‑year program.
At least 5 years of experience in structural engineering and design.
Experience in the power industry or industrial markets is preferred.
Proficient with spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and general computer operations.
Knowledgeable in engineering software: SAP2000, SAFE, Mathcad preferred.
Familiar with ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360, and IBC standards.
Licensed Professional Engineer preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

Prepare designs for assigned structure(s), including research, lateral force resisting system selection, analysis, and drawing preparation for power generation projects.
Apply department and industry standards when preparing calculations, drawings, and specifications.
Understand and meet EPC, RFPs, and other contractual requirements.
Research new markets and adapt processes to deliver project outcomes.
Coordinate with internal and external partners to address structural issues.
Prepare, monitor, and update project plans, schedules, and budgets.
Support department managers in achieving performance goals.
