Job summary

Kiewit Power Engineering in Lenexa, KS is seeking a mid- to senior-level Structural Design Engineer to advance complex power-related projects. You will perform innovative design, structural calculations, develop plans, and coordinate with EPC partners to ensure safety and reliability.

The role offers growth opportunities, leadership exposure, and the chance to work across multiple office locations in North America while applying ASCE 7, AISC 360, and related standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years of experience in structural engineering and design.
• Experience in the power industry or industrial markets preferred.
• Proficient with spreadsheets, databases, word processing; skilled in engineering software.
• Knowledge of ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360, and IBC; PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare designs for assigned structures including analysis, drawings, and calculations for power generation projects.
• Apply department and industry standards to project drawings and specifications.
• Meet EPC, RFP, and contract requirements in collaboration with partners.
• Research new markets and adapt workflows to deliver project results.
• Coordinate with cross-discipline teams, vendors, and owners on structural issues.
• Plan, monitor, and update project plans, schedules, and staffing needs.
• Support managers to achieve department performance goals.
