Job summary

Civil Design, Inc. (CDI) seeks a Structural Building Engineer – Project Manager to lead and manage structural building projects while coordinating with site development teams. The role encompasses signing off on calculations and documents, performing structural analysis, and serving as a primary client contact.

Travel up to 10% is expected across multiple CDI offices. The position requires a Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (PE licensure a plus) and a minimum of 8 years of

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (a plus but not required).
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
• IL Structural Engineer licensure.
• 8+ years of building design experience.

Responsibilities

• Managing structural engineering projects by creating scope and budgets, directing the design, and coordinating work with other staff and design team members.
• Being responsible as the Engineer of Record for project success, signing/sealing calculations and construction documents as required.
• Perform structural analysis and design for building structures
• Serving as a key point of contact with clients, contractors, and local officials.
• Displaying an eagerness to work on a wide variety of project types.
• Assisting in the preparation of engineering project proposals.
• Working collaboratively with the CDI Operations Leader, Project Development Leader, Project Engineers, and other team members to deliver projects on schedule and budget.
• Ensuring compliance with CDI’s safety procedures.
