Qualifications

• 2-4 years of progressive work experience in Highway Maintenance/Highway Construction.
• Must have the ability to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver's License within twelve (12) months of hire.
• Ability to obtain required certifications including Defensive Driving, First Aid/CPR, and Flagger.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate complex equipment safely and proficiently.
• Provide instruction to Highway Maintenance Assistants.
• Flag traffic and set up traffic control devices under limited supervision.
• Operate trucks with striping, plow, sander, and chemical systems to remove snow and ice.
• Conduct striping operations and layout on state highways within the district.
