Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) in Lyman, Wyoming, is seeking a Highway Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance Program. You will operate equipment, perform road repairs, respond to weather-related conditions, and help keep Wyoming's roads safe in all seasons.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's Degree (typically in Engineering)
• Experience: 0-1 year of relevant work experience (typically Highway Maintenance/Highway Construction)
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must be able to obtain a Class A Commercial Driver's License within twelve months of hire

Responsabilités

• Maintains and operates complex equipment safely and proficiently
• Assists with training other technicians in the operation and maintenance of equipment
• Under limited supervision, flags traffic and sets up traffic control devices
• Operates heavy equipment, including trucks with auger, aerial lift, plows, wing plows, sanders, and chemical systems to remove snow and ice from roadways
• Responsible for rehabilitation of roadway surfaces and/or traffic control devices such as signs and pavement markings
• Attends and completes state and federal training to obtain/maintain certifications and learn new skills
• Communicates information to update others' status and/or process effectiveness
• Utilizes computers for agency practices and keeps up to date on technological advances with specialized equipment
• Removes snow and ice from roadways and assesses treatment effectiveness
