Street Team Member, RINKS
Pay Details
The starting hourly rate for this position is $20.00 per hour. This is a part-time position within The Rinks Marketing Department.
Responsibilities
- Implement the Anaheim Ducks Learn to Play & Little Ducks Programs
- Introduce youth and adult participants to the fundamentals of hockey and skating both on ice and at our inline rinks
- Assist with check-in, gear distribution, and on-rink instruction
- Implement programming and instruction at the Anaheim Ducks Top Flight Street Hockey League for participants with special needs
- Teach participants the fundamentals of hockey in a safe environment, providing direction and positive reinforcement
- Assist with on-rink instruction for various other hockey and skating programs, including Hockey is For Everyone Events, Try Hockey and Try Skating Events, Street Hockey, Adult Development Program, Summer Camps, and Homeschool Programming
- Assist with preparation, support, and promotion of community relations events hosted at the Rinks, including Give Blood Play Hockey, Casey's Cup, Fedorin Cup, and other community relations skating events
- Assist with various community-based events designed to promote The Rinks, Great Park Ice, and Anaheim Ducks
- Responsible for set up, promotion, and tear down of booths, tables, and other marketing-related onsite assets
- Assist in managing and maintaining the quality of interactive marketing elements, including street hockey inflatables and booth set-ups
- Drive The Rinks \"Promotional Vehicles\" to and from events
- Confirm vehicles are fully stocked with necessary items for events and are unloaded after each event
- Ensure the vehicles are always kept clean
- Assist with other tasks as needed
Skills
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Bronze level (2+ years) hockey or skating experience preferred
- Enthusiastic about hockey, skating, and the Anaheim Ducks
- Organized and able to multi-task and problem solve in a fast-paced work environment
- Hardworking, detail-oriented, and results-driven
- Strong leadership skills and a collaborator who enjoys working in a team environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service oriented
- Previous marketing/promotional/event experience is preferred
- Previous coaching experience is preferred
- Possess a valid California Driver's license, automobile liability insurance, and a safe driving record
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required
- Requires prolonged standing
- Able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
- Must be willing and able to work in outdoor conditions
Education
- High School Diploma or Equivalent

The Rinks Development Program launched in 2009, and consists of seven local hockey and skating facilities throughout Southern California: six ice rinks - Anaheim Ice, Lakewood Ice, KHS Ice, Yorba Linda Ice, Poway Ice and Great Park Ice, as well as one inline facility - Irvine Inline. The Rinks offer a variety of hockey and skating programs for participants of all ages and ability levels. The Rinks is home to thousands of youth and adult hockey players as well as recreational skaters to competitive Olympic figure skaters.
