Job summary

City of Topeka is seeking a Street Maintenance Worker Trainee to perform a range of street maintenance tasks and learn critical skills for progression. This entry-level role includes company-paid time for CDL acquisition and hands-on training to develop capacity for advancement.

Incumbents will participate in snow/ice removal and routine maintenance tasks, with pay starting at $19.97 per hour and rising after the six-month probation period.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age at time of hire.
• Six-month probation period and CDL training to be completed by conclusion of probation.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual labor for street maintenance including surfaces, curbs, and gutters.
• Assist with snow and ice control and removal operations.
• Train on CDL and equipment during probation with company-paid time.
