The City of Hutchinson, Kansas is hiring an entry-level Street Maintenance Technician to perform roadway maintenance, street cleaning, and related duties using light to medium equipment. After-hours call‑outs and occasional night/weekend hours may be required, with on‑the‑job training provided.

You will assist with pothole repair, signage, snow removal, and minor equipment maintenance while adhering to safety guidelines. Applicants must live within 25 minutes of the Public Works facility.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience in manual equipment operation preferred, with training provided as needed.
• Valid Kansas Class B CDL with air brake endorsement within 90 days of appointment.
• KDOT Flagger certification within one year of appointment.
• Applicants must live within 25 minutes of the Hutchinson Public Works facility and be able to report within 30 minutes for after-hours emergencies.

Responsabilidades

• Operate diverse light to medium equipment for street maintenance, repairs and cleaning.
• Perform snow and ice control and haul materials to sites.
• Inspect and perform basic maintenance on equipment; conduct pre/post inspections.
• Install and maintain street signs and traffic control devices; support accuracy of markings and crosswalks.
• Provide daily work reports and data entry as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
