HDR is seeking a WTEM Business Class Director to lead wastewater treatment and effluent management initiatives. The role emphasizes strategic leadership, risk management, and cross-functional collaboration across HDR’s national teams.

Responsibilities include directing technical staff, client relations, and program quality across multiple locations. You will mentor engineers, oversee planning and design, and participate in industry organizations to advance HDR’s capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in related field.
• Professional registration for leadership roles where core service is technical design.
• Experience developing and managing diverse teams.
• Works cooperatively with other HDR business class directors and leaders.

Responsibilities

• Provide company-wide leadership of technical capabilities within the business class.
• Coordinate with related business classes, market sectors, and operations.
• Lead technical risk management through reviews and advisory services.
• Drive QA/QC processes and coordinate with the Quality Manager.
• Oversee development of tools, standards, and techniques to enhance service quality.
• Assign experienced staff to projects and manage workload sharing.
• Develop strategic plans with market sector directors and leadership.
• Lead research engagement with industry organizations to advance capabilities.
• Mentor technical leaders and support professional development.
• Oversee planning, modeling, piloting, and design services for wastewater programs.
