FirstService Residential is seeking a Vice President of General Ledger Accounting to lead the GL function for a portfolio of markets. You will set strategic direction, drive standardization, and ensure timely, accurate financial statements across communities while managing a large, diverse team.

The role requires strong technical accounting, change management, and leadership capabilities to deliver high-quality client reporting and robust controls across time zones and client agreements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus accounting designation.
• Strong analytical skills for data collection and benchmarking.
• Ability to communicate a clear GL strategy and vision.
• Experience leading change management across functions.
• Commitment to process improvement and talent development.
• Comfort with new technologies, automation and outsourcing.
• Knowledge of financial accounting in Condo/HOA.
• Experience with agile program management.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsabilités

• Provide executive ownership of monthly close and financial statement reporting for the portfolio.
• Set operating rhythm, timetables, quality standards, and escalation paths.
• Ensure integrity of GL activity: reconciliations, accruals, fixed assets.
• Serve as senior escalation authority for complex accounting issues.
• Oversee GL support for audits, budgets, and client obligations.
• Establish SLAs and KPIs for financial statement delivery.
• Develop leadership talent and workforce capacity.
• Attract and retain high-caliber accounting professionals.
• Lead standardization and continuous improvement of GL processes.
• Partner with transformation and tech teams to define requirements.
