Job summary

FirstService Residential seeks a strategic Vice President of General Ledger Accounting to lead the GL function across NA markets. You will oversee monthly close, financial reporting, and client deliverables, with a focus on controls, efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus an accounting designation is essential.
• Prior experience in a senior financial operations role is required.
• Strong analytical skills and a track record of driving process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive ownership of the monthly close and financial statement reporting cycle for all communities in the portfolio.
• Establish the portfolio’s operating rhythm, reporting timetables and quality standards.
• Ensure integrity of general ledger activity including reconciliations, accruals and asset accounting.
• Serve as senior escalation authority for complex accounting matters and reporting issues.
• Oversee GL support for audits, budgets and client financial obligations.
• Lead standardization of GL processes and governance across markets and regions.
