Job summary

FirstService Residential is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage general ledger and financial reporting for a portfolio of condo and HOA associations. You will handle journal entries, reconciliations, and statements, while supporting client-billing and annual budgeting efforts.

The role emphasizes accuracy, collaboration with Association Managers and Board members, and mentoring junior staff in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
• Associates Degree with position equivalent experience.
• 5 to 7 years of related experience.
• Strong understanding of balance sheets, income statements, general ledgers and accrual accounting.
• Experience with client billing and financial reporting processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver Financial Statement packages for a portfolio of Condominium/Homeowners Associations.
• Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations and analyze statements for accuracy.
• Prepare and post journal entries to the General Ledger.
• Review Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable transactions and resolve discrepancies.
• Submit financial packages for review to the assigned Association Manager.
• Provide additional financial reports to clients as requested.
• Assist with budgeting and respond to questions on monthly statements.
• Coordinate with banking partners and third-party vendors for system coordination.
• Mentor Staff Accountants and support department members.
• Assist with audit, tax, and year-end processes as needed.
