Qualifications

• 5+ years of post-admission legal practicing experience.
• JD degree; bar licensing requirements applicable to the role.
• Knowledge of complex financial products and services.
• Ability to assume significant independent responsibility immediately.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Outstanding organizational and project management skills; manage multiple complex matters.
• All candidates must complete conflicts of interest clearance prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Strategically lead and manage a portfolio of litigation matters from intake through resolution, including case strategy, pleadings, discovery, dispositive motions, trial preparation, settlement/mediation, and appeals.
• Defend the Firm in litigation involving Consumer and Community banking products and services; assess potential affirmative litigation.
• Conduct early and ongoing case assessments and develop strategic litigation plans, including exposure analysis and escalation points for senior stakeholders.
• Retain, instruct, and manage outside counsel, including scope-setting, staffing oversight, budget management, quality control, and performance evaluation.
• Lead fact development and discovery, including document preservation, privilege review strategy, deposition preparation, expert management, and e-discovery vendor oversight.
• Provide pre-litigation counseling to clients to prevent disputes and mitigate risk in transactions, products, and client interactions.
• Identify recurring themes and create playbooks, templates, and lessons-learned guidance.
