Job summary

JPMorganChase Consumer Banking Legal is seeking a Vice President/Assistant General Counsel to advise branch banking and community development initiatives. You will provide practical legal guidance, assess regulatory issues, and collaborate with Legal, Risk, Compliance and Controls teams to support strategic business objectives.

Role emphasizes issue spotting, ownership, and cross-functional teamwork in a large financial institution.

Qualifications

JD admitted to practice in the state where the position is based.
5+ years of legal experience in government/regulatory agency or large consumer banking organization, law firm, or equivalent.
Strong client advisory and cross-functional collaboration.
Experience with banking regulations, UDAAP, data/privacy, and regulatory interactions.

Responsibilities

Develop subject matter expertise and collaborative relationships to support Consumer Branch Banking and Community and Business Development initiatives.
Provide strategic and practical legal advice to branch and field professionals, and to operational areas that support branches.
Internalize the firm’s risk appetite to guide new business processes while maintaining fortress controls and treating customers and employees fairly.
Advise and collaborate with colleagues across Legal, Risk, Compliance and Controls Departments.
Monitor and advise on relevant legislative and regulatory changes for business partners and legal colleagues.
Lead or participate in department projects and priorities to support firm-wide goals.
