Job summary

American Electric Power in Ohio seeks a senior financial/strategic professional to lead bid development for electric transmission infrastructure and grid-scale storage initiatives, coordinating with finance, regulatory, and planning teams.

You will guide multi-disciplinary proposal work, perform complex financial analyses, support regulatory filings, and prepare presentations for boards and senior leadership, while mentoring teammates in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering or related field.
• Typically requires ten (10) years of experience in a financial and/or business strategy role.
• MBA preferred.
• Strong commercial, analytical, oral and written communication and presentation skills.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams, customers, vendors or partners is preferred.
• Working knowledge of transmission cost recovery and transmission business functions is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop competitive bids for electric transmission infrastructure investments.
• Manage multi-functional proposal teams and perform complex financial analyses.
• Research transmission market conditions to support recommendations and discuss with market participants.
• Support finance, regulatory, and budgeting functions including filings and statements.
• Prepare presentations and talking points for leadership and stakeholder forums.
• Lead and oversee work of team members.
