Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp in Akron, OH seeks a senior finance leader to support Transmission Finance. The role focuses on planning, reporting, and strategic insights, building strong business partnerships across finance and operations.

You will lead budgeting, forecasting, and analysis for Transmission, manage P&L, balance sheets, cash flows, and coordination with multiple departments and joint ventures. A seasoned leader with GAAP/FERC knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, engineering, or related discipline required. Advanced degree is a plus.
10+ years of relevant work experience with increasing impact and responsibility.
Budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis of O&M, Capital, or full P&L results.
Strong financial acumen, including financial statement analysis, budgeting/forecasting theory and process, and internal/external reporting functions.
General knowledge of GAAP and FERC accounting principles. Regulated finance experience is a plus.
Understanding of State and Federal regulatory framework and ability to translate recommendations into actions to optimize results.
Demonstrated leadership skills, including ability to lead by example, coach others, provide constructive feedback, build high-performing teams, and empower others.
Proven ability to develop business partnerships and earn trust across organizations.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Expert analytical skills with a track record of solving complex issues and providing clear, logical, and impactful solutions.
Technical expertise in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Experience in SAP and UI Planner a plus.

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe workplace for coworkers and the community based upon knowledge of potential hazards and industry regulations/requirements.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and reporting processes/deliverables for Transmission, including O&M and capital planning with full P&L ownership.
Interface with key stakeholders on Transmission's budget, forecast, analysis, and performance.
Oversee reporting requirements for FirstEnergy, FET board, Brookfield, and Valley Link.
Create and review SEC filings and disclosures related to FET and FE Stand-Alone Transmission reporting.
Assist in accounting activities such as invoice approvals and accruals.
Support non-stand-alone transmission activities and substation reporting.
Build a business partner model to inform decision making and risk mitigation.
Lead analysts to deliver financial insights and develop business partnerships.
Create and lead a decision support function with actionable recommendations.
Educate teams on technical subjects with clear learnings.
Lead process improvements.
