Job summary

American Electric Power in Indiana seeks a strategic finance/business development leader to focus on competitive bids for electric transmission and grid-scale storage, while coordinating with internal teams and regulatory bodies. You will develop proposals, analyze financials, and present findings to senior leaders and boards.

The role requires a decade of relevant experience, strong communication, and ability to work with diverse partners; MBA is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering or related field.
• Typically requires ten (10) years of experience in a financial and/or business strategy role.
• MBA preferred.
• Strong commercial, analytical, oral and written communication and presentation skills are required.
• Ability to work with diverse internal and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Strategize to attain competitive bid development opportunities for electric transmission infrastructure investments and grid-scale energy storage solutions.
• Manage and perform proposal and bid development via multi-functional teams including complex financial analysis and input consolidation.
• Research market conditions to support recommendations on markets, competitors, trends, etc., and participate in discussions with utilities, vendors and stakeholders.
• Lead with accounting, finance, regulatory, and budgeting to support finance and regulatory functions including statements, budgets, filings.
• Support expert witness testimony for FERC and state regulatory proceedings.
• Review prepared presentations for the board, senior leadership, conferences, and stakeholder forums.
• Review talking points and conduct presentations for senior leadership on strategic positions.
