Job summary

The Municipal Association of South Carolina seeks a Training and Learning Solutions Manager to lead strategic design, development, delivery, and evaluation of training programs for municipal officials across the state.

The role focuses on identifying educational needs, increasing member engagement, and leveraging technology and innovative learning methods to create high-quality experiences. Flexible/hybrid remote work is available after orientation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, education, communications, public administration, organizational development, learning technologies, business administration, or related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in instructional design, professional training, educational technology, learning management systems, or related experience.
• Strong technology, communication, public speaking, interpersonal, collaboration, and project management skills.
• Valid South Carolina driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging in-person, virtual, and on-demand training programs; advise on training technologies and best practices.
• Research emerging trends and educational strategies to enhance learning experiences.
• Evaluate training programs and implement improvements and innovative solutions.
• Collaborate across departments to identify educational needs and develop responsive learning opportunities.
• Plan and manage learning technologies, online platforms, and digital engagement tools.
• Develop curriculum, scripts, and delivery for in-person, remote, and asynchronous courses; coordinate with content experts.
• Prepare and monitor program budgets and provide reports.
• Coordinate registrations, website content, marketing, certifications, and member engagement activities.
• Provide oversight to administrative staff; offer performance feedback.
• Travel occasionally to attend conferences, training, workshops, and meetings.
