Job summary

Butterfield Market in New York is seeking a Training Manager to lead the development and execution of a companywide training program. This hands-on role builds relationships with department trainers, champions continuous learning, and delivers blended training through Opus, virtual classes, in-person instruction, and floor coaching.

You will coordinate across markets and departments, ensure content is current and accessible in English and Spanish where appropriate, and oversee LMS

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in training, learning and development, operations, hospitality, grocery retail, or related field.
• Experience leading trainers, facilitators, or training support teams preferred.
• Experience creating hands-on training programs, job aids, SOPs, and train-the-trainer materials.
• Bilingual English/Spanish capability strongly preferred.
• Experience administering an LMS (Opus or similar).

Responsibilities

• Lead Butterfield's companywide training strategy and turn priorities into practical learning programs.
• Build and manage a blended training program with LMS (Opus), virtual classes, in-person instruction, and floor coaching.
• Maintain training calendars and coordinate programs across markets, commissary kitchen, café, catering, and corporate teams.
• Ensure training is accessible, engaging, and aligned with Butterfield's service and operating standards.
• Lead train-the-trainer initiatives and provide trainers with clear lesson plans, checklists, and evaluation tools.
• Spend time on the floor coaching teams and supporting onboarding and retraining.
• Collaborate with HR, operations, and department leaders to document procedures for training content.
