Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex civil engineering projects in a demanding Texas market. You will manage client relationships, direct multidisciplinary teams, and ensure performance on scope, schedule, and budget while mentoring Project Managers and technical staff.

The role emphasizes business development, quality control, and adherence to standards, with hands-on involvement in major projects and firmwide growth initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the relevant states.
• 8+ years of engineering and project management experience.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and client relations.
• Strong business development and communication skills.
• Ability to manage shifting priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Serve as principal client contact and foster long-term partnerships.
• Lead planning, execution, and delivery of complex projects with budget control.
• Develop and negotiate scopes, budgets, schedules, proposals, and contracts.
• Provide leadership to project teams and mentor staff.
• Oversee financial performance, staffing plans, and resource allocation.
• Review deliverables for compliance with standards and client requirements.
• Perform QA/QC reviews, risk management, and issue resolution.
• Lead or support business development, including proposals and interviews.
• Represent the firm in meetings with clients and stakeholders.
• Contribute to firmwide standards, staff development, and operational excellence.
• Balance client needs with internal priorities to maintain satisfaction and profitability.
• Coordinate traffic engineering work with related disciplines.
