Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to own end-to-end delivery of strategic programs, reporting to executive sponsors and governance boards.

Qualifications

• Have 8 years of relevant experience and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or another related field or its equivalent.
• Have professional experience as a Project Manager/Program Manager in an IT organization.
• Have a sufficient level of technical background to provide credibility to technical teams and accurately and objectively evaluate risks and issues.
• Have experience working on projects/programs supporting Enterprise Applications.
• Have experience managing external implementation providers.
• Demonstrate solid leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills in addition to excellent presentation and communication abilities.
• Have a successful track record of stakeholder management and leading effective communication across senior leadership and technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Leading program definition, planning, scope, and execution of assigned programs, managing the health status of programs to anticipate risks and/or issues and implement mitigation plans.
• Defining integrated program plans (including detailed work breakdown structures) and the deliverables required for the program's success.
• Identifying dependencies and interdependencies between programs and successfully scope, size, and lead implementation of identified transformation/growth opportunities.
• Driving stakeholder alignment and communicating program status to executive sponsors and governance forums.
• Working independently and comfortably in ambiguous circumstances to create clear paths forward for teams.
• Adopting best-practice guidelines to influence and implement continuous improvements to PMO processes.
