Job summary

The University of New Mexico seeks a strategic Manager of Talent Development to lead the Talent Development function during a period of institutional transformation. You will drive design, delivery, and evaluation of broad talent initiatives in alignment with Elevate UNM and Oracle Cloud transformation objectives.

Responsibilities include leading staff, partnering with HR leadership and stakeholders, and ensuring scalable, high-impact learning solutions across modalities while championing adult

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; 7+ years of related experience.
  • Experience leading talent development, learning & development, or organizational development functions.
  • Experience supervising staff, coaching, and driving performance.
  • Experience leading large-scale training initiatives in complex organizations.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for Talent Development, including planning, prioritization, and evaluation of learning initiatives.
  • Lead and develop Talent Development staff with coaching and performance management.
  • Oversee design, development, delivery, and evaluation of university-wide training programs across in-person, virtual, blended, asynchronous formats.
  • Lead large-scale learning initiatives including leadership development, onboarding, compliance training, and organizational change support.
  • Partner with HR leadership, campus stakeholders, and project teams to assess enterprise learning needs and develop scalable solutions.
  • Support Elevate UNM training and readiness efforts including application training, SOP development, and adoption support.
  • Establish standards for instructional design, content development, accessibility, learner experience, and training evaluation.
