Qualifications

• Manages and communicates information through various processes (computers and paging systems).
• Maintains courteous, professional interactions with customers.
• Coordinates patient procedures with the anesthesiologist to ensure room and anesthesia availability.
• Schedules OR, OB, and CV suite procedures.
• Identifies and schedules pre-op appointments within requested time frames.

Responsibilities

• Prepares surgical schedule for the following day and notifies anesthesia and ambulatory surgery staff.
• Notifies departments of changes once the schedule is finalized.
• Solicits surgical volume when block time becomes available to maximize OR utilization.
• Coordinates necessary arrangements with Radiology, ESWL, EEG, Pathology as needed.
• Check-in and announce surgeon’s arrival to OR suite on day of surgery.
• Assists co-workers when short-staffed to meet Perioperative Services needs.
