Job summary

UL Research Institutes and UL Standards & Engagement are nonprofit organizations advancing safety science. The Solution Architect will guide technology decision-making, design the organization’s solution portfolio, and ensure alignment with architectural standards.

The role requires leading cross-functional initiatives, promoting governance, and assessing emerging technologies to inform roadmaps across Azure, AWS, and related platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years as a Solutions Architect or in a similar leadership role.
• Experience with SaaS/PaaS (M365, Salesforce, Workday) and IaaS (Azure, AWS).
• Azure Solutions Architect Expert or AWS Solutions Architect certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into solution designs.
• Lead evaluation of platforms and services; design standard configurations as needed.
• Design architectures aligning with enterprise strategy and architecture standards.
• Produce architecture artifacts to support governance and compliance.
