Discord's Talent team is seeking a strategic Technical Sourcer to support our most complex engineering roles by activating passive candidates. In this role, you'll partner directly with engineering leadership to conduct market intelligence, size talent pools, and execute sophisticated sourcing strategies for hard-to-fill technical roles.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in technical sourcing or recruitment, preferably in a high-growth tech company environment.
• Demonstrated success hiring senior, staff, principal-level engineers, and engineering managers in competitive, constrained talent markets.
• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand complex engineering roles, evaluate technical qualifications, and translate requirements into sourcing signals.
• Expert-level proficiency with boolean search techniques and advanced sourcing methods (x-ray, GitHub/repo mining, conference tracking).
• Proficiency with modern sourcing tools and platforms (SeekOut, Gem, LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, Greenhouse).
• Expertise in market mapping and talent pool analysis to inform hiring strategy with data-backed insights.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills to influence hiring teams and leadership.
• Strong pipeline management to balance multiple requisitions in fast-paced environments.
• Proven track record sourcing developers, full-stack engineers, and feature development.
• Data-driven mindset to track and report key sourcing metrics and adjust strategy.

Responsibilities

• Partner with hiring managers and technical leaders to understand role requirements and translate them into sourcing criteria.
• Conduct TAM research to size talent pools and inform hiring timelines for niche roles.
• Develop detailed job mapping by analyzing competitors and target accounts that fit Discord's architecture and culture.
• Build and execute customized sourcing strategies using Boolean, x-ray, GitHub, and competitive intelligence.
• Identify and engage talent across fields, partnering with recruiters and leaders to scale teams.
• Craft personalized outreach that highlights Discord's technical challenges and candidate value.
• Own candidate experience from first outreach through recruiter handoff with clear communications.
• Represent Discord at events and build long-term talent communities for pipeline health.
• Maintain data hygiene and track pipeline metrics to optimize sourcing ROI.
