Job summary

SchooLinks is seeking a Controller to lead and scale the accounting function at a fast-growing, venture-funded SaaS company. Reporting to the CFO, you will manage the accounting team and own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close to ensure GAAP-compliant reporting and ASC 606 revenue recognition.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, technically proficient in ERP systems, data-driven, and CPA-credentialed with 7+ years in SaaS finance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Experience at a venture-backed SaaS company (Series A–C preferred).
• CPA required; Big 4 or national firm experience strongly preferred.
• Deep expertise in GAAP, ASC 606 revenue recognition, and SaaS subscription models.
• Experience managing external audits and implementing internal controls.
• Proficiency with accounting systems (NetSuite, Salesforce, Ramp) and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Direct and scale the accounting function with recruiting, coaching, and succession planning.
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, and GL.
• Ensure ASC 606 revenue recognition and other accounting guidance compliance.
• Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and management reports.
• Lead the annual audit process and manage external auditor relationships.
• Build, implement, and maintain internal controls.
• Manage cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and treasury functions.
• Partner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Oversee tax compliance (federal, state, local).
• Lead and develop the accounting team and drive technology improvements.
