Job summary

REI is seeking a Sr. Manager of Construction to lead the construction management organization overseeing new store tenant improvements and capital projects.

You will drive strategy, manage the construction team, and oversee budgets, schedules, and vendor performance to deliver projects on time and on budget. The role requires extensive experience in retail construction, strategic leadership, and cross-functional collaboration, with travel up to 30% and a focus on continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of people leadership experience.
• 10+ years retail construction project management experience, including occupied store remodels.
• Expert knowledge of retail buildings, systems and structures.
• Proven track record managing a portfolio of retail projects.
• Ability to manage geographically diverse teams remotely.
• Strong budgeting, scheduling and resource management skills.
• Experience negotiating commercial contracts.

Responsibilities

• Oversee new store and remodel project delivery across the portfolio.
• Develop and track annual construction budgets for new store and reinvestment projects.
• Direct strategic planning for the Construction team and staff development.
• Improve construction administration, monitor quality and schedule, ensure timely delivery on budget.
• Own GC relationships and vendor evaluations, drive improvements.
• Lead quarterly business reviews and cost-saving initiatives with Architecture partners.
• Set up cost analysis frameworks and KPI reporting for store projects.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to leadership.
