Recreational Equipment, Inc. (REI) seeks a Senior Store Planner to lead store planning and fixture design, aligning with brand standards and delivering exceptional customer experiences across REI stores, including collaboration with Concept, Visual Merchandising, and Architecture teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of store design experience in a complex retail environment.
• Advanced knowledge of space planning for retail settings.
• Experience in store design, visual presentation or merchandising.
• Proficiency in Revit and other design software (SketchUp, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Adobe CS, Figma).
• Ability to establish and apply store planning standards across formats.
• Strong project management with measurement, reporting and financial analysis.
• Ability to create and maintain process systems and documentation.
• Proven collaboration across teams and leadership in store planning projects.
• BA/AA in Architecture or Interior Design preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage store planning scope, activities, and project schedules.
• Coordinate Department Plan and Fixture Plan with Concept, Visual Merchandising, and Architecture teams.
• Collaborate with Assortment Planning to maximize selling space.
• Deliver high-quality Fixture Plans adhering to adjacency, category, space, and accessibility standards.
• Implement store planning program requirements into fixture plans for the store fleet.
• Provide data to Construction Procurement for budgets and fixtures procurement.
• Document and maintain fixture block library and shop drawings.
• Coordinate category management blocks with Concept, Assortment Planning, and Visual Merchandising.
• Inform schedules and timelines; communicate dates to meet deadlines.
• Document and maintain square footage data for the store fleet.
• Support Fixture and Visual Merchandising install phases.
• Collaborate with Concept Design to translate and execute new concepts.
• Guide team processes and procedures; provide mentorship to Store Planner II.
• Provide decision support to Manager of Store Planning and leadership on business impacts.
• Store visits to audit standards and develop new ones as needed.
