Job summary

REI Co-op is seeking a Senior Real Estate Manager to execute the company’s retail real estate strategy across an assigned territory. The role leads site selection, acquisitions, relocations, expansions, renewals, and closures, collaborating with Legal, Finance, Design, Construction, and Operations.

You will guide market analysis, leverage broker networks, and drive store development from site selection through post-opening review, with travel up to 30% and a one-hour airport radius requirement

Qualifications

• 10+ years in retail real estate or equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree required in real estate, business, or related field
• Strong knowledge of market planning and implementation for locations and portfolio optimization
• Extensive experience in development process: broker mgmt, negotiation, contracts, demographics, leasing, purchasing
• Ability to analyze store performance with data-driven market insights
• Proficient in MS Office and GIS tools; capable of independent and collaborative work

Responsibilities

• Lead the real estate pipeline for new locations, relocations, expansions, renewals, downsizing, and closures
• Lead real estate transactions with negotiation, sound judgment, and problem-solving
• Serve as the market expert: assess development activity, demographics, traffic, and relocation opportunities
• Coordinate cross-functional projects with Market Research, Finance, Legal, Design, Construction, and Operations
• Manage broker networks and external partnerships with landlords and developers
• Support portfolio performance through collaboration with Property Management and Facilities
