Job summary

Hylant is seeking a Captive Reinsurance Accountant to support the evaluation and management of reinsurance contracts, claims, and relationships with reinsurers. You will prepare technical, financial accounting of premium, claims and reserves based on statements of accounts or bordereaux.

The role requires collaboration with internal stakeholders, driving process improvement, updating SOPs, and occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 3 years in reinsurance accounting or related finance area.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams).
• Able to build and maintain carrier relationships.
• Fluent in English.
• Willing to travel.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze reinsurance contracts for policy adherence.
• Manage processing and settlement of reinsurance claims.
• Generate reinsurance reports and analyses to support decision-making.
• Consult internal stakeholders on statutory and reinsurance accounting.
• Drive process improvement and standardization; identify inefficiencies.
• Attend training sessions to stay updated on systems and processes.
• Keep SOPs and training guides up to date with Captive Account Executives.
• Perform other duties and special projects as requested.
