Job summary

Hylant is seeking a Captive Reinsurance Accountant to support evaluation and management of reinsurance contracts, claims, and reinsurer relationships. You will prepare technical financial accounting of premiums, claims and reserves based on statements of accounts or bordereaux.

The role requires reviewing contracts, managing claim settlements, generating reports, and advising stakeholders on statutory and reinsurance accounting. Travel for meetings and conferences is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in reinsurance accounting, insurance, or a similar financial area.
• Proficiency in MS Office, with emphasis on Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
• Strong ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
• Fluent in English.
• Willingness and ability to travel by car or airplane for meetings and conferences.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze reinsurance contracts to ensure adherence to policies.
• Manage processing and settlement of reinsurance claims for accuracy and efficiency.
• Generate reinsurance reports and conduct analyses to support decisions.
• Advise internal stakeholders on statutory and reinsurance accounting matters.
• Drive process improvements and standardization; identify inefficiencies.
