Job summary

Hylant is seeking a Captive Reinsurance Accountant to evaluate and manage reinsurance contracts, claims, and reinsurer relationships. You will ensure compliance with policies, support claim settlements, and deliver insightful reports to inform decisions.

You will review contracts, settle claims, and generate analyses while collaborating with stakeholders. A minimum of 3 years in reinsurance accounting and a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance are expected, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in reinsurance accounting or a related finance role.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, Outlook and Teams.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with fluent English.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical, financial accounting of premium, claim and reserves based on statements or bordereaux.
• Review and analyze reinsurance contracts for policy adherence.
• Process and settle reinsurance claims with accuracy and efficiency.
• Generate reinsurance reports and perform analyses for decision-making.
• Advise internal stakeholders on statutory and reinsurance accounting matters.
• Develop and maintain relationships with reinsurers.
• Identify and drive process improvements and standardization.
• Attend relevant trainings and keep SOPs up to date with Captive Account Executives.
• Support special projects and other duties as assigned.
