Job summary

Hylant is seeking a Captive Reinsurance Accountant to support evaluation and management of reinsurance contracts, claims, and relationships with reinsurers. You will prepare technical, financial accounting of premium, claim and reserves, and ensure compliance with company policies.

The role involves reviewing contracts, processing claims, generating reports, and advising stakeholders on statutory and reinsurance accounting topics. Travel may be required for meetings and conferences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in reinsurance accounting or similar financial area.
• Proficient with MS Office, especially Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
• Skilled at building and maintaining internal and external relationships.
• Fluent in English.
• Willingness to travel via car or air for meetings.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze reinsurance contracts to ensure adherence to policies.
• Process and settle reinsurance claims accurately and efficiently.
• Generate reinsurance reports and perform analyses to support decisions.
• Consult internal stakeholders on statutory and reinsurance accounting guidance.
• Drive continuous process improvement and standardization of procedures.
• Attend and participate in relevant training to stay current on systems and processes.
• Keep SOPs and training guides up to date with Captive Account Executives.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
