Job summary

Hylant is seeking a Captive Reinsurance Accountant in New York to support evaluation and management of reinsurance contracts, claims, and relationships with reinsurers. You will help ensure policy compliance, efficient claim settlements, and produce insightful reports to aid decision-making.

Responsibilities include preparing technical accounting for premiums, claims, and reserves; reviewing contracts; processing settlements; generating reports; and advising internal stakeholders on statutory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in reinsurance accounting, insurance or similar financial area.
• Proficiency in MS Office, primarily Excel, Outlook, Teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical, financial accounting of premium, claim and reserves based on statement of accounts or on bordereaux.
• Review and analyze reinsurance contracts to ensure adherence to company policies and guidelines.
• Manage the processing and settlement of reinsurance claims, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Generate reinsurance reports and conduct analysis to support decision-making.
• Consult internal stakeholders on Statutory and Reinsurance Accounting expertise and guidance.
