Job summary

Hylant is seeking a Captive Reinsurance Accountant to support evaluation and management of reinsurance contracts, claims, and relationships with reinsurers, ensuring policy compliance and efficient claim settlements. The role also entails generating insightful reinsurance reports and analyses to support informed decision‑making, and advising internal stakeholders on statutory and reinsurance accounting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in reinsurance accounting or similar financial area.
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, Teams.
• Strong attention to detail and focus on metrics.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication; ability to build relationships.
• Willingness to travel for meetings and conferences.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical, financial accounting of premium, claim and reserves based on statement of accounts or bordereaux.
• Review and analyze reinsurance contracts for adherence to policies.
• Manage processing and settlement of reinsurance claims with accuracy and efficiency.
• Generate reinsurance reports and analyses to support decision-making.
• Advise internal stakeholders on Statutory and Reinsurance Accounting guidance.
• Develop and maintain relationships with reinsurers.
• Drive process improvements and standardization; update SOPs with Captive Account Executives.
• Support training and other special projects as requested.
