Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking an experienced Pursuits Manager to lead a cross-disciplinary team in Education, Science, and Sports pursuits in the United States. You will partner with sector leaders, principals, designers, and marketing colleagues to position HDR for successful proposals.

You'll oversee the pursuit lifecycle from positioning to final submission, develop high-quality client-focused materials, and mentor staff to grow a top-performing team in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience.
• Self-starter with independent project completion.
• Deep knowledge of the A/E/C industry's procurement of professional services.
• Ability to motivate and inspire others.
• Maintenance of professional registration or related technical experience.
• Experience in sales and developing win strategies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability and willingness to travel and engage in person.
• Experience writing compelling content based on technical staff input.

Responsibilities

• Lead priority pursuits for Education, Science, and Sports sectors in the United States.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing pursuit team.
• Lead pursuit lifecycle from planning through submission and follow-up.
• Facilitate pursuit strategy and kickoff meetings aligned with client needs.
• Oversee development of persuasive, client-focused proposals and materials.
• Manage pursuit workflows, budgets, schedules, and quality controls.
• Coordinate resources across a growing national pipeline and with other teams.
• Collaborate with Architecture Marketing Studio members.
• Translate client insights into actionable pursuit strategies with leadership.
• Advance consistent practices and continuous improvement within HDR.
