Job summary

HKS INC. is seeking a senior Pursuit Marketing strategist to lead Tier 1 opportunities by developing sharp narratives aligned to client intelligence and brand identity.

You'll partner with BD and pursuit teams, shaping win themes, messaging pillars, and final presentations for Federal campaigns. Advanced InDesign and Photoshop skills, government procurement experience, and outstanding storytelling are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, or related degree.
• 8+ years of experience in AEC marketing, pursuit strategy, or related.
• Proficiency in InDesign.
• Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp and InDesign preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite preferred.
• Experience with government procurements e.g., SAM.gov.
• Experience with GovWin.co.
• Experience with SF330.
• Experience with design‑bid‑build and design‑build procurements.
• Familiar with RFQ/RFP best‑value procurements.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, storytelling skills.
• Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong facilitator skills.
• Understanding of client motivations in architecture, design, procurement.
• Familiarity with content libraries, case studies, and value propositions.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to balance multiple pursuits.
• Ability to collaborate and lead in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Develops a clear pursuit strategy and document for Tier 1 opportunities.
• Defines win themes, messaging pillars, differentiators and the narrative approach.
• Grounds strategy in client intelligence from BD relationships.
• Leads alignment with BD, seller/doers before creative work begins.
• Provides ongoing strategic direction through pursuit lifecycle.
• Creates strategic briefs guiding proposal and interview development.
• Maintains alignment with PMD and BDD on client relationships and BD activity.
• Leads narrative development for featured projects with Communications COE.
• Ensures visual identity alignment with Brand COE.
• Coordinates between HKS and client for promotion activities.
• Supports award submissions and editorial pitches.
• Tracks pursuit performance and feeds learnings back into positioning.
• Drives post-pursuit debriefs and continuous improvement.
