Job summary

Pan-Pacific Mechanical is seeking a Purchasing Agent in California to source and negotiate with suppliers for mechanical and plumbing projects. You will manage purchase orders, budgets, and supplier relations to ensure timely material delivery and project success.

You will work closely with Project Managers and estimators, maintain purchasing logs, and gain product knowledge to recommend suitable products for submittals.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of purchasing experience, preferably in the plumbing and mechanical.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience with Viewpoint Software or similar accounting platforms.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and ability to multi-task.
• Self-starter with initiative and problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Attend meetings to update staff on pricing, expediting, and project updates.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders; monitor budgets and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate purchasing with Project Manager and suppliers.
• Review specifications and recommend products for submittals.
• Enter purchase orders into Vista daily.
• Interact with estimators, project managers, and vendors on pricing.
