Job summary

California Faucets is seeking an experienced Purchasing and Planning Manager for our Huntington Beach, CA facility. You will lead procurement, planning, and S&OP activities to ensure on-time customer deliveries and optimal inventory turns.

The role requires 5+ years in materials management, strong leadership, and solid ERP/MRP experience. You will oversee a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with Engineering, Sales and Finance to optimize supplier performance and costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, management or related discipline.
• At least five years of progressive experience in management of materials, procurement, and planning within a design and manufacturing environment.
• Experience in developing a Sales and Operations Planning program with previous employers.
• Extensive experience in importing from several countries.
• Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and their use in a manufacturing environment.
• CPIM or CPSD (APICS) certification preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Bilingual with English/Spanish or English/Mandarin preferred.
• Experience in lean, six sigma, or other similar environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee procurement and production planning to increase inventory turns, minimize operating expenses, maximize product quality, and meet aggressive on-time delivery requirements.
• Oversee the execution of the forecast process for new and existing products to minimize lead time and maximize on‑time delivery.
• Maintain a robust S&OP program involving leadership from Operations, Sales, Marketing, and Finance.
• Analyze customer demand, sales forecasts, and historical material usage to develop purchasing plans.
• Ensure Planners and Buyers investigate the cause of critical material shortages and schedule delays.
• Oversee daily activities of the Procurement team, reviewing and approving purchase orders and MRO requirements.
• Provide reports to sales and management for new product orders, production build schedules, and exceptions to schedules.
• Develop and maintain Purchasing and Planning Department KPIs.
• Advise cross-functional teams to develop the best sourcing strategy for customer demand.
• Advise manufacturing and engineering on remedial action or in-house stock options to keep schedules on track.
• Identify and manage supplier relationships to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.
• Establish and monitor supplier scorecards and performance reporting.
• Stay current on industry trends affecting purchasing, logistics, tariffs and market conditions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, EH&S regulations, and purchasing terms.
• Coordinate with engineering and manufacturing to guarantee 100% on-time delivery.
• Participate in cross-functional operations decisions and collaborate with Sales, Quality, and Finance.
• Review purchase prices against standards and guide cost changes.
• Maximize ERP procurement module usage and data integrity.
• Recruit, coach, and performance-manage planning and procurement staff.
• Maintain a safe work environment aligned with EH&S policies.
• Perform additional assignments as directed.
