Job summary

Magnetics, a division of Spang & Company, is seeking a Purchasing Manager based in Pittsburgh, PA. This role leads end-to-end procurement for raw materials, supplies, capital equipment, and contract services to ensure supply continuity, cost competitiveness, and strong supplier performance for manufacturing operations.

The successful candidate will partner with Operations to align purchasing with forecast demand, drive cost and delivery performance, and manage RFQs, negotiations, and expediting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, logistics, or a technical discipline.
• 7+ years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Demonstrated experience in supplier negotiations, contract management, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Willingness to travel domestically up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end procurement for raw materials, supplies, capital equipment, and contract services.
• Ensure continuity of supply, competitive cost, and supplier performance for manufacturing operations.
• Partner with Operations to align purchasing with forecast demand and inventory targets; drive cost, quality, and delivery performance.
• Develop scopes of work for contracted services and coordinate with contractors for timely execution.
• Lead cost-reduction initiatives and implement dual/alternate sourcing strategies while ensuring sustainable sourcing standards.
