Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Decatur, Alabama is seeking a senior purchasing and inventory leader for the xPL manufacturing facility. You will lead a team of buyers and analysts to ensure material availability and reliable flow to production, while aligning with manufacturing, engineering, and planning functions.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree with at least 8 years of experience, strong ERP/MRP knowledge, and proven supervisory skills. Occasional travel is expected as projects demand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with 8+ years of related leadership experience.
• Experience in manufacturing operations, production planning, and material planning.
• Strong knowledge of procurement policies and ERP/MRP systems.
• Proven ability to lead and develop purchasing teams.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop xPL team of buyers and inventory analysts.
• Oversee daily purchasing activities to ensure materials align with production schedules.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Production Planning, Engineering, and Inventory to meet demand.
• Monitor POs, supplier performance, and expediting to prevent interruptions.
• Maintain material availability and communicate risks and recovery plans to leadership.
• Oversee PO lifecycle and ensure documentation accuracy.
• Build relationships with suppliers to improve delivery and resolve issues.
• Support supplier transitions and strategic sourcing while ensuring operations.
• Coordinate with Finance to resolve invoicing discrepancies.
