McKinstry Thermal Systems, LLC in Seattle, WA is seeking a Purchasing Agent to join the Offsite Manufacturing division. You will lead procurement activities, develop sourcing strategies, and collaborate with project teams to ensure timely, cost-effective material delivery.

The role emphasizes supplier relationship management, process improvement, and cost optimization within a dynamic construction environment. A strong background in procurement and ERP is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of supervisory and/or construction-related experience with warehouse, inventory control, and buying responsibilities.
• Proven experience in setting up and refining procurement processes.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills to maintain supplier relationships.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and supply chain optimization is a plus.

• Lead procurement of materials, services, and equipment at competitive prices to support project success.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with budgets, schedules and quality expectations.
• Implement and improve procurement processes to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.
• Identify and cultivate relationships with reliable suppliers for long-term value.
• Analyze market trends, supplier performance and cost drivers to inform purchasing decisions.
• Collaborate with project teams and estimators during preconstruction for early procurement planning.
• Interpret technical specifications and suggest alternatives to improve cost-effectiveness and quality.
• Conduct purchasing research to explore new sources and innovative products.
• Competitively bid and negotiate maximum discounts for frequently purchased commodities.
