Job summary

McKinstry, based in Seattle, WA, is seeking a Purchasing Agent to join its Offsite Manufacturing division. The role focuses on strategic procurement, supplier development, and cost optimization for materials, services and equipment.

You will develop sourcing strategies, collaborate with project teams, and drive procurement improvements to support on-time project delivery while aligning with budgets and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4 years of supervision or construction-related procurement experience.
• Proven ability to set up and refine procurement processes.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and supply chain optimization.
• CPM or CPSM certification preferred.
• Proficient in procurement of materials, services and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement of materials, services, and equipment at competitive prices.
• Develop sourcing strategies aligned with budgets, schedules and quality.
• Improve procurement processes to reduce lead times and risks.
• Identify and cultivate reliable suppliers for long-term value.
• Analyze market trends and negotiate favorable terms.
• Collaborate with project teams during preconstruction for procurement planning.
• Interpret specs and suggest cost-effective materials or methods.
• Bid commodities and negotiate maximum discounts.
• Coordinate with Project Management, Estimating, Field Ops, and Accounting.
