McKinstry is hiring a Commodity Manager for the Offsite Manufacturing division in Austin, TX. You will oversee procurement, sourcing, and strategic management of specific goods and services, partnering with Engineering, Production, Finance, and Procurement to optimize supply chain performance and drive cost efficiency.

The role emphasizes supplier evaluation, market insight, and data-driven recommendations to strengthen resilience and align with enterprise procurement direction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, or related field OR equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in procurement, purchasing, or commodity management, with experience in technical or equipment-based sourcing environments.
• Strong analytical skills as applied to forecasting, demand assessment, and pricing data evaluation.
• Proven negotiation skills with experience securing favorable supplier contracts.
• Industry knowledge of market dynamics and supply chain processes.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, lead sourcing activities, and negotiate terms.
• Develop and recommend commodity-specific sourcing strategies aligned to procurement direction.
• Monitor commodity markets and industry developments to inform purchasing decisions.
• Analyze inventory levels, production schedules, and budgets to support procurement.
• Maintain supplier relationships and support audits and vendor qualification processes.
• Provide guidance to buyers and analysts and mentor junior team members.
• Develop price risk mitigation strategies and ensure regulatory compliance.
