Job summary

City of Prescott is seeking a Procurement/Contracts Specialist within Public Works to develop specifications, maintain contract documents, manage purchasing and ensure compliance with laws and city policies. You will liaise with subject matter experts and staff, support bid processes, and administer contracts from award through closeout while coordinating with engineers and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business, Accounting, or related field preferred.
• Three (3) years of related experience in contract administration or municipal finance; or equivalent.
• Possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license; Professional Purchasing Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing, maintaining, and administering design and construction contract documents and specifications.
• Coordinate contract amendments and change orders.
• Support public bid process; prepare solicitations in compliance with legal standards; liaise with City attorney for guidance.
• Distribute plans to bidders; maintain documentation; prepare addenda; tabulate bids; attend bid openings.
• Coordinate project close-out phase of contracts and respond to inquiries about contract status.
