Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with major in public administration, business administration, purchasing, materials management, engineering, architecture or related field
• Three years of professional procurement experience related to contract writing, administration, or commodity management
• Experience substituting education for work experience may be considered

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes and coordinates development of sourcing strategies for high value requirements
• Identifies opportunities and evaluates improvements in strategic sourcing
• Coordinates cross-functional teams to procure materials and services
• Provides direction to procurement professionals and internal customers in strategic sourcing
• Prepares complex solicitations for strategic commodities and design/construction projects
• Negotiates contract terms and pricing for strategic commodities, services and design/construction contracts
• Maintains confidentiality of information encountered in duties
• Monitors procurement methods and ensures compliance with county procurement code
