Job summary

Motorola Solutions, a leader in public safety technology, seeks an Area Sales Manager for the Central US to proactively develop large project opportunities across core and emerging technologies, focusing on next generation platforms. You will lead cross-functional teams and build relationships with key policymakers to influence funding decisions.

Travel 50%+ within the territory; manage bids and forecast revenue while meeting orders and financial goals, in a dynamic, competitive market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with 4+ years of sales, customer success, military and/or public safety experience OR 8+ years of sales, customer success, military and/or public safety experience.
• Strong negotiation skills on large project opportunities.
• Creative and strategic mindset and thinking process.
• Highly effective communication skills (oral, written & presentation).

Responsibilities

• Overall strategy, direction, and execution of identified strategic projects.
• Lead internal teams on critical projects and issue resolution with clear direction.
• Build trusted advisor relationships with key decision makers in public safety and government.
• Forecast project orders and revenue weekly, monthly, and quarterly.
• Navigate bid and sole-source procurement to support Motorola's success.
