Job summary

The City of Cleveland is seeking a Budget Analyst to support the Department of Community Development with financial oversight and grant administration. Under supervision, you will prepare and review financial reports, assist in annual budget development, and ensure compliance with funding requirements.

You will work with City staff, partners, and auditors to monitor revenues, expenditures, and contract payments, providing timely financial analyses and reporting to improve program outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business/Public Administration or closely related field is required.
• Two years of full-time paid experience in Finance or Accounting preferred (substitution rules apply).
• Must be knowledgeable in computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and reviews financial reports and forms associated with grant requirement adherence.
• Assist in budget development, financial monitoring, expenditure tracking, grant compliance, reporting, and fiscal analysis.
• Review financial transactions and support contracts, grants, and program activities.
• Input financial data into database to track and maintain processing of financial documents.
• Prepare monthly status reports and provide financial reports to Budget Manager.
